He responded to people saying he makes music with newer producers.

Now that I think about it, that’s been the G-Unit style from day one. Sha Money ran G-Unit and put so many producers on. If y’all go back and check the liner notes on any 2000’s G-Unit releases, half the names I bet no one knows.

Sha would put everyone’s beats on blank CDs so the Unit wouldn’t know who made each beat, and wouldn’t be swayed by a big name. And Sha Money also signed a lot of producers to production deals and gave them priority.

Producers like Jake One, Illmind, and Nottz got a lot of placements and exposure from G-Unit. Banks saw that model barely out of high school, and I’m not surprised he’s gone on to not care about name-brand producers.

But I have heard Banks say that Havoc and Alchemist are his favorite producers. Havoc did the intro track on both of Banks’ 1st two albums and Banks had it that way on purpose.

fukk outta here. just work with a few decent producers at least on a few tracks. there are levels to this beat making shyt.
homie couldve at least tapped VDon or some shyt for some beats.

and why his name spelled Lloyde on the back cover? is that his real last name? if not he lookin amateurish
i expect better

1. you haven’t heard the beats so how would you know if they’re good or not? G-Unit artists track record with new producers is high as fukk.

2. that’s his real name.

I feel where you’re coming from on 1, and I know you weren’t talking to me. And I like most of Banks’ production.

But at the same time, I don’t think it’s crazy to see that people really want to hear Banks with other production legends that they love. Especially when they’re names he’s produced classic material with already.

It’s not just about the beats being good or not. And people will forget once they’re enjoying the music. But the desire to hear Banks recreate magic with Havoc and Alchemist, or work with Beat Butcher, V Don, and Daringer again (when we have recently gotten those collabs) is understandable.

this is why Banks shouldn’t have put out the producer list until after the album was out.

people are attached to names, just blaze been making the same choir beat for rappers for like 10 years now & people are still not tired of it.:yeshrug:

Wow. If you’re gonna try and correct someone on their own name (on a public forum like Twitter of all places) it might be a good idea to make sure you are correct first.

edit. To be fair to the guy, I thought it was C. Lloyd too. I don’t think many Banks fans thought it was Lloyde.

Sometimes, but they had production from other solid producers like No I.D, Megahertz, Denaun Porter, Hi-tek, Needlz, Red Spyda etc. I’ll just wait to see how this sounds before anything.

Red Spyda, Denaun & Needlez were not household names or mega producers
