You underestimate actually building a core & sticking to it . As much music as he’s dropped you can’t possibly be surprised his base supports him .

He isn’t a new artist trying to establish himself

I’m not underestimating him. I’m one of those people. I’ll support this COTI thing whenever he drops it. But it’s not a ridiculous take to believe that how he handles things like this is more likely to cause a loss in interest than a gain in interest.

If that’s the case (and I definitely wouldn’t argue with you) I don’t understand the fear in 2021. No one is moving numbers like that. I don’t get why he doesn’t just do the limited batch wax route. It’s not a novel lane, but it’s tried and true by now, and he has enough fans that would pay to own his music on vinyl.

I bet he could even re-release his old mixtapes on vinyl and people would buy them.

50 doesn’t have the rights to any of the mixtapes he’s dropped since the ones with Whoo Kid. At least I don’t think he does.

Also, 50 doesn’t seem like the type to block anything that could earn himself some passive income, even if it’s not much.

The crazy thing is it doesn’t seem they complicated. I think he could generate some decent interest with releasing his next project on streaming platforms, and also on Bandcamp with an option to pay as much as you like (how 38 Spesh does) and press up anywhere from 500 to 1,000 copies on vinyl.

If the project had legit production and good artwork, I think it would do pretty well.
