Side note: a very underrated aspect as to why CC2 was so successful is the fans that converted from hearing his collab with ASAP Rocky who was the hottest young and new rapper out of NYC at the time, that put more ears to Banks' music than it would have had otherwise. I feel like if he collabed with younger rappers more often his projects would get more attention. Like him and Sheff G fukk with one another and Sheff is one of the hottest young rappers out of the city, he should try to get him on a track

Those mixtapes were way better, matter of fact i prefer all of G-Unit's mixtape's more than most of their album releases that isn't GRODT, Beg For Mercy or any other their debut albums. Everything after wards was downhill.

they definitely shined brighter on the mixtapes, they have more mixtape material than albums

I think this is the general consensus among all of their fans, I dont count it against them or their legacy at all tho, because its the same with somebody like lil wayne from 06-now yet people praise him for it and even gave him the "mixtape weezy" moniker.. shyt even fabs whole last decade of success was based around mixtape releases but for whatever reason the rules are diff for g unit

only problem is most of that material isnt available on streaming so theres a generation of people who probably think banks hasnt made music in a decade and 50 only has 2 good projects in his catalog

Yea most people prefer the mixtapes, they were all basically album cuts that were either scrapped or took off due to sample clearance issues.

I really expected other features on this tracklist, i hope he releases another project or at least goes on a feature run collaborating with other artists. He needs the look and exposure really.

This is completely wrong

for the RIAA in America.

it’s 150 streams = 1 song sale
1500 = 1 album sale

75,000,000 streams in the US = RIAA Single Gold
150,000,000 Streams In the US = RIAA Single Platinum

750,000,000 song streams = RIAA Album Gold
1,500,000,000 songs streams = RIAA Album Platinum

10 digital single sales = 1 album sale too.
That seems so stupid to me. Especially as a measurement of popularity. So you have to stream a song 1500 times for it to count as one album sale? I have albums that I have bought in the store that I don’t have 1500 track plays on. And I listen to a lot of music and I have songs that I have streamed a lot less than 1500 times that I’ve listened to a lot.

Crazy.

Yeah I pretty much go to his post 2010 mixtape catalogue when I want to listen to him. I rarely go back to the old stuff. The past 10 years has been a lot more like a traditional catalogue, despite officially being mixtapes.

I wasn't talking streams, shyt wasn't even around. He was tryna count the album going gold in Canada, 50,000, which is 450,000 less than US gold.

Yea sometimes i go to his older stuff, but his newer projects have more replay value cause he's rapping about relatable stuff instead of the punchlines. It's cool if he does that every now and then but he should be a complete artist with lyrical ability more than ever now.
