And the crazy thing is that if Banks was rapping over Metro Boomin or DJ Mustard, Ak would still spin it and say that Banks was chasing trends or trying to copy a newer style instead of doing what he's comfortable doing.

It's a lose/lose situation. Ak was going to hate on him no matter what.

Not to mention Banks had Freddie and Benny on there and Akademiks don't like them nikkas :mjpls:

Akademiks tries to be funny. He models himself after Star and he has an audience is he has to cater to.

Hes a Banks fan and said it on Everyday Struggle. Even in the vid he said he'll listen to it in his own time

Lloyd Banks - COTI is a powerful album.

Such a great album.

I never compare. But if J Cole stays in New York now and Nas's King's disease are considered New York Hip hop albums - I take Coti over those.

This is is hip hop. What a fukking album.
Incredible. Mind blowing lyrics, beats, vibe.

This is it man. :wow:

Why do people believe that you have to make "current" sounding shyt? Like it's a must, people are dumb, lol.

Not everyone is trying to be on the radio and play in the club...and not every listener is checking for shyt like that, there's a huge audience that likes that boom bap/gritty rappity rap shyt. They may not flock to buy your shyt first week and instead listen for free (lol) but they will sell out your shows around the world and buy merch, etc....

Why make music you don't want to make trying to reach a base that may or may not even like it for a slim chance at radio success/popularity...when you can make the shyt you love making, that has an audience that also loves it, that can bring you in a nice half a million plus every year while being critically acclaimed and all that? Some of these talking heads aren't very bright, lol, they have very shortsighted, distorted views on shyt.

Told y’all Banks wasn’t doing no battle lol

also, album is still piff. I prob would have to slide it below FNO, LIU and CC2 and right above V6. No slight to Banks be just has a stacked ass catalogue when you include mixtapes.

banks flow on Early Exit tho>>>>>> someone needs to post the lyrics. That whole part with “movie time resumes, uzi rounds kaboom” and all that was fire.
