It's an issue but a non issue at the same time. They aren't selling your data illegally. Every single person is giving them permission to access your data when you "log in with facebook" and it when it asks you if it can "access you photos, posts etc". Then those companies sell the data to firms that specifically collect that info. Being zuck is a hilarious situation right now because he's being blamed even though people are literally allowing it to happen.
I saw through Facebook years ago and even did a thread being against Social Media like Facebook that nobody's photos or privacy was safe. Yet everyone was saying I was out of touch, LOL. LOL @ the thought of giving Mark Zuckerberg your personal information for years on a "Free" Site and now you mad because he sold it to the highest bidder, LOL.

There was something else as well, but I forgot. But I had the issue when my hair dresser taken my number, then a few weeks later I got her in my recommended friends list.
But tbh I don’t use FB anymore. Too much BS and shytty memes, “press like to say a prayer for this person”, etc for me to use it

Once it became publicly traded it was a wrap. Now investors are involved and revenue is crucial. Now everyone's wall is flooded with advertisements and movie trailers. Your information is the blood, the fuel of Facebook. Without everyone's info then what do really they have? So, if your information is the source and they can't protect that? You see what is happening now, stock dropped dramatically a few days ago and they are losing membership. Of course they've got tons of users so it's far from over but My only point was I felt early on that information wasn't fully safe up there and I still feel that now. Nothing in Capitalism is really "Free" so just because you don't pay to sign up to Facebook doesn't mean you aren't paying a price with your photos and personal information. So this scandal doesn't surprise me at all. It just happen much later than I expected.
Fox News does and myspace isn't coming back lol.
I wonder if that's gonna prompt people to want to pay for social media in exchange for legit privacy like that one app...forgot what it was called.

I work in CRM and I can tell you there are databases which contain full name, email addresses, age etc out there which large companies pay big money for. That’s how they do target marketing. You can filter face book key words for example, you typed “i’m going to paint my bathroom” then painting supplies and bathroom fixtures adverts start turning up. You’re digital footprint is being tracked. Even if we have a incomplete data we can enrich that data by
