I dont really want to get into the Hov bashing because folks get real sensative...

but realistically hov blew up by virtue of making hits
coupled with but much less important was the posession of mic skills
Once Hov was on Top He kept the crown so long by multiple means...
1) He was just nice
2) He just has a preternatural ability to crank out hits
3) He jacked your swag right before you hit full national attention... ask TONS of MCs Chris of the whisper flow
4) He replaced you on hits if he saw you were about to be on a smash hit and get national attention... ask Jadakiss about that one
5) If you stood up to him jacking your hit and were on defjam he capsized your career... ask Buddens about that one

Hov is a great MC and a business man, but he has really given a lot of folks the business.
