Budden would actually respond to some minor random shot from Hov with a full fledged vicious 5 minute plus diss track that everybody seems to demand from only certain people...only for jay to completely ignore it, be talked about on the net for like 4-7 days...then forever forgotten and barely talked about again
In other words Jay is a bytch that likes to throw bricks and then hide his hands. nikkas been saying Jay fell of lyricaly I don't really recall anyone saying that bout Joe

For you times is rough too
Cause ain't nobody buying ya albums but you
From the sounds of everything, I hear you lost it
Still rap aight, but ya ears exhausted
fukk ya bunch of money, put ya ego to the side
And maybe its time to study ya understudy
I mean, are we hustling or are we grown up
Every time I hear you, you changing ya tone up
When the new generation think about Jordan
All they remember is when Iverson crossed him
Take off the blazer, loosen up the tie
nikka fell in love and Superman died
Better learn to cover ya ears when the toys pop
I hate ya last single and none of ya Boys Roc
Can we hear some new nikkas with promise
The new generation won't forget you we promise
We'll always pay homage
But let's get one thing understood son
Every Encore ain't a good one

:wow: :banderas:

I read that verse and I don't see Jay-Z's name in it so that automatically makes Hoe Budden a bytch ass nikka. If you got a problem with somebody, say his name... if not then keep it moving, a lot of you are exposing the type of music you guys listen to... which is bytch made music.

Yea, because Jay always said a nikka's name when he was dissing him :comeon:

Besides, a name isn't always necessary especially when the lines are so damn obvious...

"Take off the blazer, loosen up the tie
nikka fell in love and Superman died"

That's a play off Jay's lines on the Kingdom Come track

"I been up in the office you might know him as Clark
But, just when you thought the whole world fell apart
I take off the blazer loosen up the tie
Step inside the booth Superman is alive
"

"I hate ya last single and none of ya Boys Roc"

I play of Jay's single Roc Boys

It's so obvious, and you here worried bout him not saying Jay's name :rudy:

Like 50 said...

"I ain't gotta spell it out for you mothafukkas all the time
Are you illiterate nikka? You can't read between the lines?"

I'm not here to debate this dog. Check what I said... First songs like city is mine etc its not debatable and Drake himself told budden when he first met him. The Jay Phonte shyt is in 07. I'm taking 05.

Your timeline is off as fukk too. He was singing on comeback season which is before Wayne and Kanye. Kanye influenced so far gone with 808's and Wayne came after that project but was an influence on it too... Drake has 2 mixtapes before that. He been trying out styles for a while.

05 - burden
07 - Jay Phonte
09 - Wayne

Since then he done flows from French, Migos, 2chainz, big Sean etc... He a chameleon

I'm not debating anything either.
For the record you just said exactly what I said.
Come back season (which dropped in 07) was plainly influenced by Jay/Phonte.
He even went out of his way to get a Phonte feature and a 9th Wonder beat.
Then after he met Wayne there was a marked changed in his style.
I also never mentioned any dates, so that would mean I don't have a timeline
to have off in the first place.

There was very little singing if any on Comeback Season, and this is why So Far Gone
was such a significant release in his discography. And I'd argue that Phonte and Kanye
had a pretty big influence on that release as well.
By then Phonte had already recorded and dropped records as a member of The Foreign Exchange which features his singing
and of course 808's and Heartbreak gave 40 the inspiration for So Far Gone.

He's also referred to himself several times as "Backpack Rapper".

"The last time Jay Z followed Joe Budden was when he hopped on the "Pump It Up" beat for a freestyle."

:mindblown: Twitter was out back then???????

you're having a special moment breh...they didnt mean follow as in twitter...they meant followed by hopping on the same beat that budden used...

cause joe was never poppin like jay,not even close

popping has nothing to do with lyricism....you nikkas need to stop associating popularity with being a dope rapper. Both Hov and Budden are both dope...but like homie said...you've never heard anyone say he fell off. A lot of you nikkas don't even understand how dope Joe really is...all you nikkas know is Love and hip-Hop and Cypher verses.

I agree they both can spit. I"M SAYING hov will be under more scrutiny due to his consistent shine. People rarely talk about nobodies falling of and i was pointing that out.

My comment was regarding his first songs he recorded and his intitial flow. Your addressing comeback season and beyond. There's is a whole mixtape before that and the local radio songs still.

I don't see the relevance of mentioning Jay and Phonte in the buddens thread about him stanning Drake when Drake at this point has borrowed from so many mc's... They ain't all stans like buddens doe.
