He's more Dirk than Durant in today's game. And how would Bird get his shot off consistently. Durant is athletic and has 7'6 reach, impossible to block his shot. Dirk is 7ft with a high release. Bird would not dominate in today's NBA but he would be a all star but not superstar top 5 level :manny:
Dirk is a great comparison as well. But Durant is definitely more athletic, I'm not trying to take anything away from him.

But Bird also had a high release and had moves to create separation. In that clip he was doing that one legged step back fade that Dirk and Durant do frequently. He was also 6'9 which is a good size for a SF.
