You forgot Grigson, it looks like the Colts dumb ass owner is hip to their game though since he hasnt extended anyone yet.

Texans coaching staff and JJ Watt pulled out 9 wins last year with a bunch of lunch pale guys. Jaguars staff is :trash:

Imagine if the Colts had gone and gotten a D Coordinator worth 2 shyts like Wade or even dikk Labeus old ass. :whoo:

Grigson is a genius. Irsay pretty much old him to not rebuild the Peyton Manning style Colts so he ran out and did it anyway.
Initially he was a breath of fresh air because he actually used free agency unlike Polian, but he sucks at using free agency so it doesn't matter.
Luckily for him he probably won't have to fall on the sword.

I see danger for Manusky and maybe Pagano though.

Those games mean nothing in comparison to the playoffs. We got blown out by the Jags in 06, but we still caught fire in the playoffs and won the Super Bowl. Same can be said about the Patriots last season and their loss against Kansas City. It's all about momentum and clicking at the right time.
It's just that Indy always comes out in games looking flat.
Both Patriots playoff games.
Last year Pats game, Steelers game, Cowboys game.
Season before Rams and Cardinals.

Doesn't mean anything for playoffs but it happens too often.
Team had one of those performances yesterday even though it was preseason.
Yeah, when the Pats lose like that, its an aberration. The Colts lose like that every yr, multiple times. And the game is usually on national tv, which makes it worse. And its the same thing, the defense looks completely clueless in those gms. Ben thru for 500yrds amd like 6tds on us :damn:

The nfl is structured where no team is that much dominant than another team. Thats scheme and preparation. And from a management standpoint, roster issues. Grigson made them play Trent Richardson a lot longer than they should have. We knew after yr 1 he sucked. Most of us knew u should've never given up a 1 for him in the 1st place.

Defense always has been and always will be our weak link. Its as much a lack of talent on that side of the ball as it is poor coaching. We could go out and get an elite defensive coordinator but without more talent on the field it would only make a marginal difference IMO.

This is where i feel like we are a victim of our own success, our offense is always good enough to carry us into the playoffs and win the division but not good enough to win a title on its own. Based on the fact that our offense can carry us so far, we rarely have an opportunity to acquire top end talent through the draft and until this offseason we really haven't made major moves for players via free agency. How do we build up a SB worthy defense without spending big and mostly late round draft picks?

Reminds me a lot of the 09 Texans if I hadnt talked about it before in this thread. ELITE offense, TERRIBLE defense where the top flight teams would only win by a slim margin after both teams hung up 40+ on each other :snoop:

Don't whiff on Bjoern Werner. (although he did make a nice play yesterday and may be better on strongside)
Don't trade first round picks for Trich.
Don't spend 75% of your draft picks on offense in first three years.
This year was first time they drafted more defense than offense and they still took a WR in the first round. I like Dorsett but he's sooo unnecessary.

I agree Indy has been unlucky in that we never get a chance to draft an elite defensive prospect, but Grigson has to make up for it in other areas. Indy has smaller room for error and Grigson has little experience so it's probably why he is struggling at times.

I would take Andrew Luck over a combined package of Clowney, Watt, & (if we had him) Khalil Mack.
Grigson drafted his plan B a little too early in Dorsett just in case TY didnt feel like signing whatever the Colts offered him.

That Richardson trade was a complete quagmire, in every way imaginable. From the picks we gave up, and the performance we never got from him, everything about it was awful. As far as Grigson goes, i couldn't have said it any better myself.

Pagano on #Colts’ preseason opener: "Your knee jerk reaction is that it's never as good or as bad as it looked.”

Another roster switch. #Colts sign WR L.T. Smith (Akron), waive WR Tyler Rutenbeck.

Andrew Luck done for the night. Completed 5/9 passes for 71 yards, ran for a 5-yard TD.
Both Lines looked bad, but it was nice to see a running back get more than 2 yrds a carry..

Grigson shat the bed w/ this olime again. I'm bout ready to give up on Holmes. And Herremanns look like sh1t. Im not gonna be too hard on the tackcles. MCPHEE is legit and Jared Allen is still a beast.

I kinda want to keep Luck oyt of this Rams gm come up :lupe:

Rams have d lineman floating out of their asses EVERY year for some reason. Colts should try to pull a trade for some of their talent. They usually have to cut a good lineman or two every year because they are so damn deep at that position
