Citizens of the Mexican city of La Huacana, Michoacán state surrounded and unarmed a group of Mexican soldiers. According to local sources, the residents demanded that the soldiers ‘drop the weapons’ that they previously seized from the civilians. In a video broadcasted by the news agency Quadratín, the soldiers can be seen backed against a wall taken where the locals strip away the equipment of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena). "At around 3:00 pm the residents set up blockades, which they claimed a response to the constant harassment of organized crime. The Mexican Army deployed an operation and seized large-caliber weapons from them. However, minutes later, dozens of villagers beat the military and stripped them of their weapons," the news agency Quadratín reported. As of now, neither the Sedena nor the Government of Michoacán have commented on the matter. The Mexican ex-president tweeted that the presidential order that prevents the soldiers from defending themselves should be revoked and added that "The military also has human rights!"
