Deep in a forest in Nigeria's Ebute Ipare village, Egbontoluwa Marigi sized up a tall mahogany tree, methodically cut it down with his axe and machete, and as it fell with a crackling sound, he surveyed the forest for the next tree.

It's not talked about as often as it should be, but Africa's environment is getting trashed pretty much across the board. I've been to Ghana and saw first hand the deforestation going on there

I understand people gotta make a living,but this is extreme
Locals are using machetes and axes to cut down trees
It's the logging companies doing the most damage

What can really be done? Should other nations step in and tell them how to run their countries?
