WM 29 ended in the safest way it possibly could. After Cena won him and Rock both shook hands and embraced each other, signaling Rock's acknowledgement of a younger wrestler taking over the place that he once held. Here WWE was obviously trying to recreate the moment that Rock and Hogan shared at WM 18 11 years ago. But for whom this new of passing of the torch was really meant for? Because it certainly wasn't the audiences.
Cena's fans are either not old enough or hardcore enough into wrestling to be aware of the history of the attitude era when Rock was a full time wrestler. So this passing of the torch didn't mean anything to them other than a famous person losing to Cena. The ones who are old enough most certainly did not appreciate this either because Cena in their eyes has never been good enough to be the top guy in WWE. He has been the recipient of condemnation by this group of people for past 6 years who don't see him anything other than a corporate shill.
So why even do it? Because these sorts of things is exactly why gets Cena gets booed by half the audience each and every week. Taking a moment that once came off as heartfelt and genuine 11 years ago and b*stardizing it to fit the narrative of Cena being the man in 2013 WWE, a narrative that is precisely the source of hatred for Cena. WWE surely can't be this daft about why Cena character isn't universally loved like Taker, Austin, or even Danielson and Punk when they are/were faces.

. I came really close to going TSC on her but my boy is tryin to hit and I didnt want to short circuit her brain with the knowledge id spit. I gave her the
and kept it movin. She loved the whole passing the torch thing as a result of course. Then said this is why she doesn watch anymore because its gotten so predictable. That made me more angry than Cena ever could. Sue was a fantastic troll
What more needs to be said? You all applaud the booking that allowed Punk to be champion for over a year and don't wanna show appreciation to the man that allowed that to go on that far yet when Bryan gets buried for that type, you are quick to turn a blind eye. It's nitpicking and a shaky form of logic that can always be dissected. It's far too easy and all too common.
