That's smart.

50 was incredibly present at one point. Any smart artist better try to eat before that wave hits the listeners. Dude was everywhere back then!

"Yo 50 is coming"

Jay knew the storm was coming. He said everyone had to sit on the sidelines after In Da Club. :russ:

Wanksta must have been :ohlawd: in NY at the time.

Yall must not remember this nikka 50 had the biggest buzz eva since Snoop Dogg and DMX...

And it wasn't only the Interscope Eminem/Dr. Dre backin'... 50 already had the streets on lock when they signed him... This nikka was hungry and was a hustler and a hard worker

If nikkaz remember well, 50 was a street gangsta NY artist with a SOUTHERN FLOW (this made the nikka really unique from every other upcoming and poppin' NY rapper at the time, plus his criminal past and raw straight to the point lyrics), he had the biggest buzz in NY since dmx... and then he had WESTCOAST production from Dr. Dre...

Tell me if this wasn't the most perfect marketing scheme ever... NY nikka with a criminal past who raps like a southern rapper who is rapping over westcoast beats.... Jay-z saw this shyt comin' from a mile away.
