My brother in law just called and said it's on HBO OnDemand now. I just checked Kodi, and it's been uploaded there as well. 
Me and my friend have rode from the dubs to hilltop back in the day. From the deep east, that would add maybe another 30-45 minutes maybe. You'd be surprised at how much ground you can cover on a bike. My start and finish point is in the middle, so you can actually stretch this route to twice the visual length.

I heard wrong. The Movie on HBO is called Kicks. It was also filmed in Oakland and Richmond. I'm watching it right now, and it's pretty good. Got Biggie's son in it too

yeah this shyt is too real honestly. Fruitvale and Kicks both did a good job of depicting the bay, but this film right here was no caricature, no glamorizing. This shyt a classic.
Also one of the actors makes some pretty good music too.
