The Lincoln project wasn't for liberals on any area of the spectrum (center through far left), so if you looked at it from that standpoint, you'd be right.
Their purpose was to establish the status quo side of the GOP and give other GOPers a side to run to because MAGA is going to rip their party apart way worse than the Tea Party.
The only thing LP and the liberals had in common was a desire to get rid of Trump and a return to the status quo. I commend them for being mostly sensible but I have personally never felt what they were doing was ever intended to help Dems now or in the future and they honestly have in so many words stated that it was back to the usual after Trump.

I know FOR A FACT, the Never Trumpers were activated in 2018 and 2020 to at least vote AGAINST Trump and did whatever down ballot.
