I didn't say you didn't like the ideology, I said you didn't like progressives, as in the group. Most people like aspects of progressive ideology even if they don't like the messengers. There's a lot of equating progressives to bernie bros and that's likely due to posters getting most of their interactions with progressives from social media and message boards. This board is getting worse about having good faith discussions about leftist politics and its in line with how political discourse has been going in the real world

Yea I agree with you. Again I like progressive politicans, and their ideologies. Its the whole 'if you don't agree with me youre an idiot' attitude they( mainly their supporters, not saying you) have that turns me off. As it does to a lot of people.

Biden or Trump were on the ballot. Leftist politics were leading in the primary until SC. Clyburn and Obama changed the course. Joe was almost done, having finished out of the top 3 twice in a row in Iowa and NH.
but joe would have won if all 50 states voted the same day :dahell: you were fooled by the staggered dates?

We all know you don't want to have a nuanced good faith discussion about this but sInce you asked

TJ Cox, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, Gil Cisneros, and Max Rose are progressives who lost in 2020

Harley Rouda, Donna Shalala, Abby Finkenauer, Torres Small, Kendra Horn, Joe Cunningham, Ben McAdams, and Collin Peterson are moderates who lost in 2020

So what's the takeaway? Without looking at each individual district, Americans rejected Trump but didn't fukk with Democrats. Democrats didn't run on any unified economic messaging and that's why they failed. $15 minimum wage passed easily in Florida despite Biden getting washed. Party leadership is what sunk Democrats in 2020 and that leadership sure as hell isn't progressive

But tell me more how Americans are rejecting leftist politicians in favor of more moderate ideals. What are even signature policy issues for moderates? There is no future for the Democratic party if they don't expand their base past what we have now and fickle independents. Give people a reason to vote besides the existential terror of GOP supermajorities
i dont know breh :yeshrug:

we were all expecting the dems to expand the house and take 52 senate seats, and didnt come close :dead: and that we includes me

But Joe would have lost if not for the pandemic. I mean we can do this all day imo.

Yes, and Yes. They held near 60 senate seats at point remember.

Point is not left vs right, its was this a good use money? Answer is no.

Social issues move most of the electorate.
Americans by and large don't believe their lives are that bad economically.
Americans believe if things get bad they can vote in someone responsible and turn it around rather quickly.

That is understandable, although something thats present in all ideologies but I think I'm understand your issue more. I do know progressives irl who fall under the tent of "Well we're right why can't everyone think like us?" without doing the work to understand these groups they cast judgement on or really attempt to explain their beliefs. They tend to be more vocal than the progressives that are putting in the work on the ground but somehow more entitled. I can't stomach anyone who would rather talk about it than be about it

shyt was a gut punch and all it did was highlight the massive handicap placed on Dem voters. Electoral College means its not enough for a Dem to be good, they have to be great. This is assuming the GOP doesn't put up another massive shyt head

I'm sure you'll agree its time for Chuck and Nancy to go. I won't put this all on them but the party needs more youthful energy leading the way

Did you know Uber and Lyft spent almost a half billion dollars on their campaign to have that happen?

Oh I know. Lol. I'm over in California so i saw all of the ads targeted towards voter ignorance. Saying that if you voted in favor of the corporation's stance it would result in those contractors being eligible for healthcare anyone who bothered to use the internet or read the proposition would know this is patently false but those marketing dollars are immensely powerful and clearly (to me at least) influenced where those votes went.

I only mentioned it because I find the idea of "oh Americans voted against it, so why should we support ?" to be completely ridiculous.

Gotcha.

When people say things like, "they ignorant, its their fault," it shows me that they don't actually support these issues.

I feel like the held on to this because of the election.

Also, the LGBT community needs to take a look in the mirror...
