In the year of 2010, my niece who has a physical disability and, my nephew were enrolled in a recreational dance classes at the Jade Hip Hop Academy. The siblings participated with zest and enthusiasm throughout the duration of the program and, they were eagerly excited to partake in the customary annual end of the year recital. Until, the mother of the owner of the studio advised the children's grandmother when she inquired to buy tickets for the recital that the children were excluded from performing with their peers. The ostensible reason given was that "They were not up to par and they would ruin Jade's recital." but, really Jade did not want a disable person to flaw her production. Please, keep in mind the children were age 10 and 8 years old at the time of the incident.
The sister and brother were understandably disappointed and hurt by this event.
I was, and still am appalled that Jade Jager Clark could be so completely unprofessional, discriminatory and insensitive against the disabled and her disgusting display of apathy towards her pupils' sensibilities is egregious. She is nothing more than pontifical, vile being who crushes little children's spirits at the sake of protecting her careful calculated but, affectation of decency public image.
This purpose of the class was to be a creative outlet for my niece and nephew. They were in recreational not competitive classes so, the experience was supposed to be fun and enlighten. Not a cruel teaching of how ignorant and hurtful people can be as Jade Clark's action has shown.
This bears the question: Is this a person whom you would want around your children?
