I'm not sure how many people here have been paying attention, but London has been producing an amazing jazz scene the last few years. There's so many artists and groups putting out material I haven't been able to check every thing out but here's a few things

ILL CONSIDERED, by Idris Rahman, Leon Brichard, Emre Ramazanoglu, Yahael Camara-Onono

These artists have what I've gotten into so far, but there's much more. Planning to check out Wildflower, Yuseff Kamaal, Binker and Moses, Shabaka and the Ancestors, Collocutor, Yazmin Lacey, Joe Armon-Jones, Nérija, Wayne Escoffery, etc.

A few recent releases:

On Black Focus Records (Kamaal William's label) guitarist Mansur Brown released "Shiroi". Kind of spaced out nightime jazz funk is probably best way to describe.

Ill Considered have released a few live albums for $1.

Not a recent release, but Ezra Collective's "Juan Pablo: The Philosopher" album I recently got around to checking out. Recommended.

I checked out a couple of joints based on this thread.

That 'When We Are' by Nubya Garcia is flames.

Just finding my way around Kamaal Williams and Yussef Kamaal's albums now. So far - dope.

The music in here is alright. But not something that I would really care to go back to.

Too bad. :manny: To each their own, I suppose. Personally, this London scene has been the entry point for me to really get into the genre. There's a lot of good young Americans putting stuff out, too, but it isn't as much a coherent 'scene', IMO (nothing wrong with that tho).
