Just wrapped this one up. Similar to Barbarian, was expecting a much better movie given all the praise and reactions. Unlike Barbarian I did enjoy this one but thought it fumbled in the last act.

And when I think of Neon, ‘The Royal Hotel’ is among the bottom of their otherwise banger outings. That film just came across as incredibly flat to me and I very much wanted to like it as a fan of Julia Garner.
They had a story to and they told it. :manny:

I'd place 'Barbarian' well above 'Longlegs'. I enjoyed both but 'Longlegs' final act was rushed and felt incomplete.

15 times?? lol. Ahh that actually makes more sense. Cause he was taller than his juvenile victims. I quoted it wrong.
They were not "his" victims. Thats the thing.

he only built the dolls and delivered it to the people. The Devil did the rest. And the mom was an accomplice bc she did it to save her daughter from the devil

Could’ve told it better. Came across like something from Magnolia Pictures.

This might be up there with Prometheus on the list of biggest “dropped the ball based on potential” movies
I haven’t watched it again since. Seems like the biggest impact it had was on horror marketing campaigns. Its box office turnout got Weapons, Black Phone, and Bring Her Back as of lately taking bits and pieces from it.

I really like what Bring Her Back has borrowed in terms of adding ARG elements to expand their world. But whereas Longlegs did the ARG in a way that kinda just told you the plot of the movie before it came out (you can literally find old videos where people predict 90% of the plot beats based on the ARG stuff); Bring Her Back dropped a website with fake items and videos for sale AFTER the movie came out...also it seems to confirm that Talk to Me and Bring Her Back are in the same universe.
