Post some features that you noticed most people seem oblivious to or under utilize because it's not really mentioned elsewhere. I'll start with Wii U.
Wii U
PS4
I don't have one so post some underrated features or some that people seem to forget.
Wii U
- You can take in game screenshots by simply pressing the home button in game and then going to cubeupload.com on the internet browser. When you go to select image you'll see two images to chose from which were generated at the time you pressed the home button.
- You can open up a tab on the web browser and go to Youtube and let a video or w/e play and open up a new tab and browse something else while the TV still shows Youtube playing.
- You can video chat with other Wii U users using the gamepad.
- The Wii U daily log keeps a nice record of how long you've played your games
- You can quick boot to whatever game you want by turning on the gamepad first.
PS4
- If you're using Playstation Now to stream a game, the last game you were playing on PS4 gets put in suspend mode and it doesn't actually close it down. Same thing happens with a lot of other apps like Netflix and stuff.
- You can use your own picture as a profile picture by uploading it through the Playstation App on Android(I'm not sure about Iphone.)
- You can change the button layout for share features. Some people leave it on default which is weird because it makes pressing the share button open up a menu. Easy mode makes it so that a button press takes a picture, a double button tap starts recording manually and a long press goes to the share menu. This way you can start a video with double tap and when you're done just long press and save it.
- You can turn off notifications such as that annoying "Friend has joined a party" which comes up far too often.
- You can remotely play your PS4 games on a Vita outside the house(Some people didn't know this.)
- Turning on HDMI device link in the system settings allows it so that when you cut your PS4 on, the TV automatically switches to the PS4 without you having to change it manually. It works on both receivers and direct TV connections. Also if you're on another input, pressing the PS button switches the TV back to the PS4. It's pretty useful as I alternate between the PC and PS4 often
- Power settings: Put supply usb power to always if you want to have your PS4 as a charging station for your things even when it's on standby mode.(Power Consumption is a little bit higher though.)
- You can log in with your face if you have a PS Camera(I don't have one but It's there)
