You're acting like Kobe doesn't have a tax accountant who is going to get him out of that higher marginal rate. Rich people don't pay a lot in taxes in this country, at least not in proportion to their income like our progressive tax system is supposed to be.

So you're saying he wasn't confident enough in his skills or personality to become the King of L.A.?

Magic Johnson had that kind of love but Shaq put in work and usurped him, then Kobe did the same. If That's the reason Dwight left then he definitely wasn't built for L.A.
You underestimate Kobe's star in la. He is to la what Jordan is to basketball. Kobe is global star breh. No Dwight wasn't there yet.

No, I think you're underestimating how big Kareem, Magic, and Shaq were. Jordan was the first and only guy in Chicago, Kobe is link in the chain.

Before even going to the NBA Kareem was a big star in L.A. for his play at UCLA. Magic is still the most beloved sports figure in Los Angeles. Shaq was a huge star, the only thing that hurt his image in L.A. was all that shyt he talked after leaving. Kobe had to earn the status he now has. If you want to be more beloved than the previous superstar all you gotta do is win. All Dwight had to do to get out of Kobe's Shadow was play to the best of his abilities.

Magic didn't become the man in la until 7-8 years down the line. Magic himself said this and is been documented by pay Riley .

Come on joe, Dwight wasn't going wait til thirty to be the man and Kobe wasn't passin that torch

Actually this proves that Kobe might be the smartest nikka in the NBA. Get your money early, He can get a return on that money. And 24m(11m after taxes) today is worth more too.

Like they say bruh,

If you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, if you're not a republican at 40 you have no brain.

:wow:
Except that most of those republicans that are over 40 are actually "poor" and they're voting against themselves.

Obviously it refers to wealthy 40 years old, but :manny:

Either way I don't really care, I'm still an early 20's broke liberal :blessed:

Nah nah for sure I know Kobe is one of the more charitable athletes out there, but I meant like the way he gets his money contributes 0 to society.
This is just wrong. Professional athletes generate billions of dollars, millions of jobs, tons of joy to their fans, and endless pages of fukkery to the Coli. Imagine a world without them.:bryan:

This.

I guarantee Kobe's effective federal tax rate is below 30%. I'm sure his accountant probably gets his taxable income to about half of what it actually is after all the write offs and charitable donations
