its because black people always want everybody to be apart of our culture, and they come in, soak up game and do their version of it and take it over....u got white rappers that dont need black ppl...like that cac macklemore and g-easy...they can make his own records and they got an mostly white fan base to buy it...and cacs are loyal, they buy cds, tickets merch etc....

now that put blacks in a weak position., because they feel obligated to kiss these white artist asses biggest of the power they have....and these rap nikkas are greedy and want a piece of that white money

hiphop was started from a broke down turntable in the south bronx...so why dont we own it? a bunch of old white and jewish men own something that was litterly started by poor blacks ...same with jazz, soulfood, every artform really.....sports....

black people aways wanna give our shyt away instead of owning it and selling it to outsiders ...but its the opposite of us...no way a black man will ever own anything in a rich white industry....because they understand the art of war, never give up ur capital, but bp have been brainwashed into believing in equality and acceptance...which in america these principles will make u somebody bytch

We fukked up by not keeping ahold of the entertainment companies we had.

I say give it...20/30 years...blacks won't be on tv much outside of sports. And if soccer picks up like some of estimated..we're in even bigger trouble.

Now blacks are virtually extinct on them boards and replaced by cacs emulating their sound .... shyt crazy :wow:

Eh, listening to white radio stations, don't really hear it and looking at the charts afterward, don't really see it either

It's simply going back to the days where black music didn't sale as much as white music and the way the Billboard 100 charts is different today than the past

We're simply not gaining crossover hits and the reality is, who cares, fukk them nikkas

2004....I was a Jr in high school. The memories:mjcry:......

Our music has fallen off. There is such a huge difference between the sound of rap and r&b in 90's/early 2000's compared to now.

Hmmm, so this is a coincidence. I subscribe to this (White guys, to be fair) youtube channel. He makes videos about all sorts of art related topics. This just happens to be his latest video. I think it's worth a watch. It *kind of* touches upon what this topic is about, in a round-about way.

He talks about how so much modern music is basically originated from black countries (Gets into examples about how, say, Justin Bieber is basically using a sound from Jamaica/West Africa). All these cac DJ's....

He basically sums up the video by saying that Rihanna is the perfect ideal for a lot of modern music, because she comes from the Islands where a lot of the popular sounds originated.

I dunno, you guys might not take anything from it. But it was a good reminder for me about just how deep the appropriation really is. It's gotten to the point where I sometimes forget/don't notice "Oh yeah...this is black music".

That was the peak, back when Hip-Hop and R&B could still make the Top 10 easily. Now it barely cracks the Top 40 if at all.
