Has anyone in this thread been in the system as a child, waiting for adoption?

Has anyone in this thread adopted a child out of the system?

If you were standing in line to rescue all of the black babies in foster care and got snaked by these guys, I could understand your anger.

But to sit in the comfort of your home, already the member of a permanent family (and most likely you always were) and criticize 2 human beings who are willing to step up when the biological parents wouldn't? Especially knowing the hell they are going to get from all sides because of it?

That's some shameful sh!t. Either start browsing the literally hundreds of thousands of American kids who need homes (and who have to make god damn profiles telling people why they deserve families) or stay out of grown up's business when they decide to handle someone else's responsibility.

Anyone of you people bytching actually want to adopt any of these kids and be a positive influence in a young black child's life instead of being flabby and sick on the internet? All need homes in the LA area and every area in the country has needy kids just like them.

Ida, 2

Ida-by-Will-Wong-680x1024.jpg

Ida, born in 2014, is a happy-go-lucky little girl who thrives with independent playtime. Ida is growing and thriving and has a great appetite and developing palette for a wide range of flavors. Ida is playful and loves to explore her environment. She tends to be on the quiet side initially but once she warms up and becomes engaged, she will reward you with her sweet smile. Ida is diagnosed with West Syndrome which is a seizure disorder in young children. Her seizures are now well controlled. Ida has several other medical conditions which require close medical monitoring and medication. Overall Ida is stable in her health. Ida is also receiving Regional Center Services and Speech Therapy. A loving and caring family that can provide structure and appropriate stimulations to aid in Ida’s developmental growth and that can advocate for her medical needs could make all the difference in Ida reaching her full potential. Support and training are available to families wanting to welcome this sweet girl into their family.

Donye (10) & Sean (8)

"Donye and Sean are two handsome boys who hope to find a forever family soon! Donye is the oldest and is a GREAT kid! He loves to go to the movies and his favorites are action and adventure movies. He also loves to play video games and listen to hip hop. He can even dance! But his real passion is BASKETBALL. He is a huge Clipper fan. He is ok with a Laker loving family as long as they promise to take him to a Clipper game. He does very well in school and really loves math. Sean is the sweet and adorable little brother. With a kind and affectionate nature, Sean likes to cuddle up and watch a good movie or even Animal Planet, which he loves. He also loves playing basketball with his brother and yes, he is also a Clipper Fan. He has a healthy appetite and Pizza is his al time favorite food. Both brothers are smart, engaging and close. What they need most is a family willing to be there for them. Can you be that family? "

Kyla age 13

"It was an inspiring day spent at the incredible Watt’s Towers with the beautiful and brave Kyla. Through no fault of her own, family reunification is no longer an option for Kyla. Kyla states she is willing to literally “go out on a limb” to find a family to be there for her unconditionally. With an interest in Parkour, which is a training discipline using movement, running, jumping, climbing, swinging and rolling, often from high places” she can quite easily go out on most limbs! Kyla is extraordinarily athletic and prides herself on being fit. Before taking up Parkour, she was an excellent track star but now she’s on to more exciting endeavors. Of course, it was tempting for Kyla to practice her skills in climbing the Watts Towers but she understands that Parkour is truly a discipline with much training and preparation involved to ensure her safety. Kyla is ready for a family who will be there for all of life’s adventures. She hopes to find someone patient enough to peel back her sometimes tough, outer layers and uncover the sweet, fearless and brave Kyla. Let’s find a family for LA’s very own Kyla. We got this LA!"

These guys have a potential match- let's hope they get a home!!!

Twins Keimonnie & Keimari age 5

KK-twins-photo-1024x680.jpg

Twins looking for their very own adoptive family! Keimonnie and Keimari are adorable and playful twins born in May 2010. They enjoy playing on their tablets and being outdoors. They are energetic and love to be on the go. They enjoy interacting with adults and other children. They relate well with each other and have typical sibling conflict. They both have good appetites but Keimari is more selective about what foods he likes. They were born premature and had some respiratory and reflux issues. Keimari receive special services in school for speech and language. Keimonnie and Keimari have been known to have tantrums when they don’t get their way but they both respond well to redirection and kindness. They also relate well to consistency and attention and they are in counseling to deal with their losses. Keimonnie and Keimari are sweet children and would do well with an active family that can provide structure and fun. They love and are very attached to their current caregiver who cannot adopt them so contact with her would be important to them. They also have relationships with extended family members so an adoptive family that can maintain these important connections in Southern California is important.

Ya'll come back and post the status of your adoption proceedings in this thread so we can all cheer you on.
