people always cracked me up thinking you can separate the diss from the song like takeover was the better song and ether the better diss. NO! a diss is a diss. And the better diss is ether, that's al that matter. You can't separate the purpose of the song, the concept of why it was done in the first place. the ether beat make s you thing of agression, puts you in a battle mood. takeover much less. so in a sense, the ether instrumental was a better choice. Even the way nas spit his verse is better, tha cadence in the first verse

you can't rock a crowd like nas did in central park with a diss like takeover. it don't have that energy
