Looking back, all of Wu messed up not sticking to the script and letting RZA continue to produce their solo albums

There’d be no 50% to give or gain without RZA.

And RZA wasn’t just the boss. He created the entire movement from the name, production, writing, the initial deal with Loud, the strategy to sign certain members to certain labels. RZA literally masterminded the entire thing. He EARNED that 50% cooking up beats in his basement for years while the other members were living life, smashing women, smoking dust, etc.
He also sharked them all. Two things can be true

That video is from 2010’s or whenever lol

If RZA wouldn’t have been giving beats to a lot of Wu affiliates in the 90’s, those beats could’ve been for the solo albums

Ye was a cheap as imitation of RZA at the begging of his career. Just Blaze was an ok producer but nah man, his beats would not have worked for Wu.

Them beats on the Ghost Dog soundtrack could’ve been for one of their albums

I think the thing that hurt the most was RZA going digital. His beats got borderline trash after Forever dropped. I don’t think his beats woulda helped at all. Ghost did smart thing tho and brought him in to exec produce his second album

In all honesty tho the thing that helped them in the beginning is what ended up hurting them. We never saw a group with so many MCs before. But over time money and egos took over

Honestly, all the wu should have had their solos out before they released another group project. Wu tang run would have been longer. Everybody would have been a star if they all had solos out before the forever album.

I’m can agree with that..

Masta Killa No Said Date was a BANGER!!

And wouldve been huge had it dropped along with many of his other brothers project when they was in their prime.

NSD was better than UGod, Deck and a fee other guys projects

This is facts.

Been saying the same for years. By '97, they should've made sure to get all of those solos out, and they should've definitely had a second Mef album done by '96. All RZA production. He should've been dropping whenever Redman was dropping.

They stalled forever and by the time the run cooled off, RZA was washed. That hurt them badly.

True

The beats I’m talking bout are the ones like Cobra Clutch, 97 Mentality, Co Defendant

The clan needed beats like those

Stand Up by Charli and Ghost

shyt like that

Not them digital beats lol

500 beats is a lifetime of beats

That nikka could’ve rode into the 2000’s and beyond with those beats

RZA forever the goat even still :mjcry:

Truth!

That mad albums and projects that they could've blessed us with, over the years.

Huge huge loss for everybody!

I am comfortable and I love you
That was never the intention though. RZA always said he had a 5 year plan that he and everyone else followed from 92-97. They formed the Clan, put out their first single indie, got a deal, put out their album, blew up, and flooded the market with solo RZA produced albums. Then they put out Forever and everyone went their own way in 97. Must've been difficult trying to manage 9-10 personalities for even those 5 years, I'm sure they wanted to branch out.

It just so happens that the results were largely :francis:

We all know out the 5 year plan, we just speak of hypothetically :russ:

Yeah naturally people are going to want to branch out and people grow apart and egos and money play a role too
