Looking back at Redman’s albums reviews from The Source (Doc’s Da Name didn’t get reviewed cause it wasn’t made available in time for a January issue)

This right here.

The first album and DIAD are perfect albums, to me. I don’t skip sh*t on either of those. That's vintage Redman. Muddy Waters had a few joints I still don’t listen to. But his perfect run was over after the first three. Doc's Da Name was dope, but the quality started dipping around that time for him.

Yeah, Dare Iz A Darkside is a masterpiece :banderas:

imo...

Whut: 5 Mics
Dare Iz a Darkside: 4.5
Muddy Waters: 5
Doc's Da Name: 4
Malpractice: 3.5
Blackout: 4
Blackout 2: 4.5
Red Gone Wild: 3
Muddy Waters 2: 3.5
I'd go:

Whut: 4.5
Dare Iz: 4 then, 4.5 now
Muddy Waters: 4.5
Of these 3, Whut is just so different and fresh from everything around that time. It's a standout album. Dare/Darkside is probably his most cohesive, and perfectly constructed album. But it was different, strange back then. But as an album, it completely flows, which is why I think it became more well received as time passed. Muddy Waters is where he put it all together as a complete artist. It's funny, but not too funny; dark but not morbid, lyrical, funky.

Doc Da Name: 3.5
Malpractice: 3
Blackout: 3.5
Blackout 2: 4
Red Gone Wild: 3
Reggie: 3
Muddy Waters 2: 3.5
I also have Mudface: 3

If anything, Reggie is gonna give you at least a solid album. He'll never give you complete trash.
