imo...

Whut: 5 Mics
Dare Iz a Darkside: 4.5
Muddy Waters: 5
Doc's Da Name: 4
Malpractice: 3.5
Blackout: 4
Blackout 2: 4.5
Red Gone Wild: 3
Muddy Waters 2: 3.5

I been going back and listening to his albums a lot the last two months and Blackout 2 is the only one i haven’t gone back to and listened to yet

I didn’t really like that it when first came out but it’s been decades since I’ve listened to it

Dare getting 4 is as much a disgrace as doggystyle, liquid swords, and midnight marauders getting 4s
Dare was considered weird at the time and threw a lot of folks off, hell if you watch Red's interviews to promote Muddy Waters he was addressing Dare's reception and reassuring nikkas he was going back to the Whut Thee Album style

Erick Sermon also said in interviews later on that Def Jam had him handle most of the production on Muddy Waters because Dare was mostly Reggie and they didn't trust him to not get weird again.

Yeah, I've read where Red claims he hates the "Dare..." album because he was in a bad head space at the time. He was doing alot of dust and other shyt while recording that album and considers it a "dark" time in his life.

Which is crazy to me because it's one of my favorite albums of all time and my second favorite Red album....and "Green Island" is one of my fave songs ever.

Red literally doesn't even remember making the album. He's never performed any songs from it after 96

I think Malpractice got reviewed but I can’t find the review

Nice, I haven't read that Darkside review in the source before. Big thank you!

I just found this really good interview that Shaheem Reid has with Redman, Erick Sermon and Rockwilder

They talk about each of Red’s 1st 4 albums

Starts at the 42:26 mark and ends at the 50:58 mark

Shaheem said he wishes Redman would do a special concert for one night for Dare Iz A Darkside

Rockwilder said Dare Iz A Darkside is Red’s Pink Floyd album

Red said if they did a concert for Dare Iz A Darkside he would not be there :francis:

Then Shaheem asked them their favorite Red album

Rockwilder said he has different styles for each of his favorite Redman albums

He said the most breakout album the the ever heard is Whut Thee Album

Then he says the most creepiest album is Dare Iz A Darkside

Then he says the most evolved and going to another level album is Muddy Waters

He said Doc’s Da Name was the polished album. He said it meets the meter in terms of highest meter album like when you think of rap albums that hit the meter for an artist in that level

After all that Rockwilder said, Whut Thee album is the album that he always close to his heart because he saw a revolution with that album

Erick said Whut is his favorite Red album too

Dare should be his highest rated :yeshrug:

This right here.

The first album and DIAD are perfect albums, to me. I don’t skip sh*t on either of those. That's vintage Redman. Muddy Waters had a few joints I still don’t listen to. But his perfect run was over after the first three. Doc's Da Name was dope, but the quality started dipping around that time for him.
