As much as I agree with you...it saddens me that all we got going as far as American society is concerned is slang, mannerisms, singing, dancing, and athleticism.

That shyt don't make cents. ..no typo. Others have fully profited off of that while we get a footnote and have our contributions watered down or completely whitewashed.

True. Our kindness toward other groups when it comes to culture is a gift and a curse. Every time we make a new movement in music or dance we allow outsiders in then they copy, cash in and deny we ever showed them.

:snoop: dude can't be serious....
the 90's was the last time shyt was "real"
Reality television is an oxymoron

How is the internet making thing "realer"? It's a tool, its what you do with it, not the end in and of itself. You have a life before instagram, you don't live for likes....or you shouldn't. But that's the world today, its not enough to just do things, everyone has to know about it. And the illusion is just that, an illusion. But the illusion also hints at the underlying reality.

So looking at the timeline for blacks in the media, you can tell we've been swagger jacked and they think they can take it from there. Until the source finds the next new thing and that is reappropriated for the consumers. Rinse and Repeat.

you complaining but it still won't change, that's how people bytched back in the day, things are better now.

Your problem is that you too mainstream focused and looking for acceptance. be yourself and stop allowing the media telling you what's cool, then you will enjoy life more.

You want fakkit cacs to give us programs to show how cool we are, they tried to do that already, now it's time for you to take the mantle and showcase by yourself.

cacs aint tyrying to fake save us no more.

you as a black person, go and create the black network equivalent to cnn and black educational shows.

<double lol

i'm not even mad at cacs, asians or mixed people because many blacks allowed or supported discrimination against their own in order to attract cacs, asians and mixed audiences. so some rapper complaining he's getting phased out incites nothing in me.

Absolutely. 100%.

Black people are slowly but surely being written out of the pop culture lexicon.

Not to go into gender war bs...but I notice black women more on TV and less black men other than on sports and the news (as criminals or victims).

But hey....what should we expect? We don't own any media...we don't control TV or movies...and we've been content receiving breadcrumbs while others have a bigger piece of the loaf.
Expecting the dominant society to continue to cater to us was a delusion, but representation matters. And the television work effects the material world. So it effects kids coming up not seeing images of people that look like them and continues shyt like the doll test where they relate more to non-black and white images cause there are no images of themselves.on TV to.relate to.

I swear...I'm sick and tired of seeing black people fight to be accepted by white society in dawn near everytbing...it's time to go for self.

which is why its so pointless for black people to complain about this.
