The suburbs
Cacs infiltrated the culture.
Mexicans are supposed to be the "new nikkas" but they're corny and swagless, even moreso than cacs in some cases.
America as a whole is :flabbynsick: nowdays

Absolutely. 100%.

Black people are slowly but surely being written out of the pop culture lexicon.

Not to go into gender war bs...but I notice black women more on TV and less black men other than on sports and the news (as criminals or victims).

But hey....what should we expect? We don't own any media...we don't control TV or movies...and we've been content receiving breadcrumbs while others have a bigger piece of the loaf. Expecting the dominant society to continue to cater to us was a delusion, but representation matters. And the television work effects the material world. So it effects kids coming up not seeing images of people that look like them and continues shyt like the doll test where they relate more to non-black and white images cause there are no images of themselves.on TV to.relate to.

I swear...I'm sick and tired of seeing black people fight to be accepted by white society in dawn near everytbing...it's time to go for self.

Black people are still in the media, but they push a certain type of black person or couple us with other types of people a lot more now. Its very rare to see an all black cast even on "black" shows and networks.

black people are just as cool as we ever were. I'd say we're even cooler now than before based on the increase in culture vulture activity. The world more often looks to black americans for whats cool than any other culture. Even without us being in shows on tv most of our slang, mannerism, singing style and dances are continuously shown whether in watered down form or done by us.
As much as I agree with you...it saddens me that all we got going as far as American society is concerned is slang, mannerisms, singing, dancing, and athleticism.

That shyt don't make cents. ..no typo. Others have fully profited off of that while we get a footnote and have our contributions watered down or completely whitewashed.

Black people in the media have been reduced to non-threatening tokens in predominantly white shows and mirror images of black stereotypes.

I just think television and American media has just poisoned the minds of many black Americans into believing that there is a false sense of equality whereas reality couldn't be more of a sharp contrast of that. TV and the media in general is still highly dominated by white faces.

Those black shows filled a niche audience, and when other minority groups became more prevalent, they're focusing on different, and more lucrative demographics now. When WB and UPN merged, they gave all those black shows the boot. :mjlol:
