looking back, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua ruined their trajectories not fighting in 2018 or 2019

If that's all he did, on top of Deontay knocking him down twice, he wouldn't have gotten a draw , bro :comeon:

There was no conspiracy dude. Those two knockdowns saved him, he was thoroughly outboxed in their first bout. And outlanded, ironically enough

NO COINCIDENCE FURY
COMEPLETELY CHANGED HIS GAME PLAN AND BEGAN CHARGING FORWARD

Brooklyn #byrdgang
In 2018, it was all AJ's team especially Eddie Hearn that blocked the fight.

I know for a fact that in 2018 Wilder wanted the fight and was gonna take slightly less money and fight in the UK for it just like Usyk did in the first fight with AJ in 2021.

But AJ's team didn't respect Wilder at all when negotiating with his team in 2018. I remember back then listening to youtube interviews from Wilder and Hearn and came to the conclusion that AJ's team were not serious about fighting the WBC heavyweight champion Wilder back then. They were treating Wilder like he was mid tier or a champion with no fan base like Joseph Parker.

I gathered from it they ridiculously lowballed Wilder as WBC champion cause he wasn't a big draw in the U.S. compared to AJ in the UK. I think they offered Wilder like a 20-80 split for AJ. Then there was the split issue in the rematch clause where in the event that AJ loses it will still be a 40-60 for AJ in the rematch. Didnt even offer Wilder a rematch clause if AJ were to win. AJ's team weren't serious in 2018 and I really think AJ's team wanted no parts of Wilder at that point.

Took the first Wilder Fury fight for AJ's team to approach Wilder with a serious offer and at that point bad blood was already set and Wilder's team was not fukking with AJ's team.

My conclusion, yea both those brothers fukked up the bag. Cause it could have happened if AJ told his team to give Wilder whatever he wanted in 2018 and in 2019 if Wilder stayed the fukk away from that bad match up for him in Fury after the first fight and went after AJ. History would've been so much more different in the heavyweight division. No AJ losing to Ruiz at MSG and no Fury Wilder trilogy.

inspired by this thread and the post I made in there

What were they really thinking? That they could stretch the hype out for a few more years? They already had all the hype in the world being built as 2 undefeated heavyweight champions eager to face each other, they had the USA vs UK undertones, they had casuals already picking sides and they just dropped the ball fumbled the whole thing away. :dahell:

Now they both have multiple losses, no belts, and looking crazy out here instead of cashing in on a huge payday, with a 50-50 chance of being the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Why? :dahell:
scared money doesnt make money

Joshua saved himself by not fighting Wilder. Made alot more $$ over the course of the 4years. He would have gotten knocked out.

Wilder got his ATG trilogy.

Yeah but they don't think about the business of boxing.

Not only that, but Wilder/Joshua right now is still a bigger fight then Fury/Usyk, which would be for the undisputed title. Crazy right?

Wilder won about 6 Rounds across 3 fights :dead:
And still almost won 2 out of those 3 fights.

It took one of the greatest recoveries in boxing history to win that first fight, and he was knocked down twice in a single round in their 3rd fight and was looking extremely shaky.

I thought Mexicans were supposed to know boxing?

Joshua may have lost on some money, but Wilder sure as hell didn't. Ls or not, the Fury trilogy is etched in history and he got paid. Joshua's trajectory may have been the same no matter what.
Joshua made money in the long run probably, or at least stretched his career out. Wilder probably would have KO’d him in devastating fashion and his career earning real money ends sooner.
