He sure as hell didn't have the gift of gab. There's no way Gore should have even been close in that first election. Nor Kerry in the second. Maybe it was because Bush 2 was a puppet Neo-Cons put in there so they could have their way while he was the face of their policies. Still how did they unite the whole party behind him?

His brother Jeb, Katherine Harris, and the Supreme Court.

Gore ran one of the WOAT campaigns though. He distanced himself from thr Clinton presidency as an overreaction to right wing outrage over Monica Lewinsky and he came off like an annoying dikkhead in the debates.

I'm not even sure George W. was a real politician. He came across as just the son of a famous guy who used name recognition to get elected. He likely wasn't even well versed in politics or policies. The fact that he actually made it all the way to president and ran this country for 2 terms is embarrassing and a poor reflection of the general population of our country that put him in office. You don't have to be the sharpest knife in the drawer to notice that he's clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer either. Kerry and Gore came across as far more competent then Bush 2 did. Still the general public either chose him or let it get close enough for him to make it in twice.

And they could be just as good a president as he was. They probably have the same level of political knowledge that he does. The Neo-Cons just put a battery in his back and told him to go.

Reminds me of this old thread I saw :scusthov:

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/geor...disturbing-article-stanford-professor.110938/

How could someone of supposed "high intellect" come across as such a complete and utter moron and implement such disastrous policies (Iraq war (deserves life in prison for this), tax cuts, surveilance programs)? Didn't he also say that "god" told him to invade Iraq? :scust:

Also why did Al Gore not get elected instead in 2000 when he won the popular vote?

Electoral college.

I'm still not sure why we have it exactly. If we're going to have it have it reflect the populous more accurately.
