Gore lost the election. If he would have won his home state, there would have been nothing that jeb bush could have done to give W the White House.

Imo he's the definition of entilitlement. Cheney killed it in the vp debates but Bush was probably everything we complain about pertaining to white people. Bush had no real strong points, he wasn't good at much of anything.

biggest example of white priviliege I've seen in my lifetime. the bushes are the grimiest family in politics, who knows what lengths they went to in rigging that election

well i think shenanigans in 2000 is what really did it

but as far as why so many people voted for him for it to be even close is that you have to understand the motivation of republicans

bush wasnt voted in to do anything, people voted for him because they dont want to s see any changes, people on the left tend be tied or motivated by policy proposals, people on the right are tied to doing nothing, the fact that bush was a blubbering idiot or simple made him perfect for a lot of people

But if he had won his home state like he was supposed to, he would have gotten the electoral votes he needed and would have made Florida's result irrelevant. He also missed a golden opportunity for West Virgina because they voted Democrat for the last few years if I remember correctly.

Reminds me of this old thread I saw :scusthov:

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/geor...disturbing-article-stanford-professor.110938/

How could someone of supposed "high intellect" come across as such a complete and utter moron and implement such disastrous policies (Iraq war (deserves life in prison for this), tax cuts, surveilance programs)? Didn't he also say that "god" told him to invade Iraq? :scust:

Also why did Al Gore not get elected instead in 2000 when he won the popular vote?
The popular vote doesn't elect presidents.

Can we really say Gore won Florida? Hanging chads and all.

Al Gore was a disastrous presidential candidate who was being advised by idiots like Bob Shrum and Donna Brazile.
It shouldn't have even been close enough for the robbery in Florida.

Bush lost the debates badly, showed no signs of economic knowledge ("fuzzy math") and stuck to meaningless platitudes (freedom, values, free market, etc).
Gore came off as a pompous know-it-all, while Bush was amazingly seen as "the guy you'd like to have a beer with" (some criteria for a rich kid!)
Also, the fact that he treated English like it was his 2nd or 3rd language was even more embarrassing.
Could you imagine white folks' reactions if Obama spoke like that? :wow:

Funny how white folks never questioned how such a dumbass ended up at Yale... But they rail against affirmative action :mjpls:

Let's not forget the power of the Nader splitting the vote in Florida. No self-respecting liberal would've voted for Bush in 2000, those votes would've gone into Gore's column and all those hanging chads/GOP shutting down black polling stations early shinanigans wouldn't have worked.

Nader split the vote and Bush's daddy called in political favors. It was a travesty of democracy. I'm still bitter. fukk Bush and his whole corrupt family.
