Looking back, should've Luger won the title over Hollywood Hogan?

I mean Hogan was about to go a year of holding the World title. Only for him to dropped it on Nitro and won it back a week later.

I felt he should've kept the title til Sting was ready to drop from the rafters and challenge him. A year plus Hogan run would have been epic, imo.

Didnt make a difference. It was a ratings ploy and WCW is still dead. They would have still fukked up the Sting win too so I cant even say it would have made Sting beating Hogan even more important in the long run.

Who cares how long Hogan was holding it? Hogan isn't Punk, he doesn't need long title reigns to legitimize or define his career.

It was a ratings ploy somewhat and somewhat to show vulnerability in the nWo. It was a huge pop and a surprise, something WCW needed at the time.

Luger won it on the Nitro then lost it at the PPV like 6 days later.

That moment was huge on Nitro, I don't even remember him losing it on ppv. All I remember is "LUGER WON THE TITLE! LUGER WON THE TITLE!!!" and the fans just going wild. Stuff like that is what wrestling is all about.

One of my fav wrestling moments ever watching live. I didn't even like Luger like that but it was cool to see WCW get the upper hand on the NWO for once. Detroit marked the fukk out I miss crowds like that.
