Looking back, was Sebastian Janikowski worth being a 1st Round pick?

Naw not him lol. My nfl knowledge ain’t even extensive enough to knownplayers from that far back. I had to look him up. His name is Shane Lechler

Shane Lechler should be there one day.

I haven't been big on the NFL for a while now but growing up, the Bo Jackson era Raiders was my team and it's sad that their best 2 players in recent years have been a fukking kicker and a punter.

Lol my bad brehs, good looking out. At first I was skeptical but if there's one punter that has a case since Guy it's definitely Lechler :ehh:

Nah they were talking about Shane Lechler but I just saw King made all-pro for them too, Raiders got punter on lock while being asscheeks for the better part of 20 years :mjlol:

I can say without a doubt yes he was...The length of time he played and his level of production even for just a kicker made him worthy of that pick.

considering the raiders drafted him and they aint win a super bowl with him maybe theres another player they couldve gotten instead who would have helped them do that? im not mad at a team taking a kicker in the first round if hes as good as jani
There wasn't. The only other pro bowlers picked after him in the 1st were Shaun Alexander and Keith Bulluck.

Correct me if I’m wrong cause I’m not a die hard nfl fan like that, but ain’t he like the greatest raider of the past 20 years or so? I know he dosent play for the raiders now, but that alone should make it worth it. Now that I think of it, him and the punter they had might be 1 and 2 as far as best players over the last 20 years for the raiders

Jano and Lechler probably in our top 5 during the last 20 years :mjcry:

I would say yea. Kicker is the only positional not really heavy reliant on to many other, you got a spiker and holder and everybody else blocks for 1 second

Everybody else the raiders drafted was bust, so I would say it was a good pick

How many kickers constantly cost their teams multiple games, and the worst is the playoff games?? How much less pressure would it be for your offense if they knew they only had to get to the 40 yard line for a good shot to win the game instead of the 30??

A great kicker who’ll give you 15+ years of sustained productivity, he’s definitely worth the first.
Unfortunately, outside of him, high pick kickers like mike nugent and aguyao havent been worth it.
