Not expensive, I'm not trying to impress anyone. I don't know if something like this exists, but what I want is a watch with a simple dial on it so that I can easily turn it to a timer for a countdown for time between sets.

Or, if it isn't a dial, something that makes it really easy to set a countdown timer without fiddling with modes and buttons. Maybe I need a stopwatch, but I'd rather have a wrist watch.

just invest in a polar heart rate monitor

you can set timer, countdown, monitor calories burned, set heart rate zones i.e if you arent doing enough it'll alarm you to work harder, if your going too crazy it'll alarm you to chill. you calorie goals, time goals, and track your progress over days, months, weeks.

it's a great way to monitor your progress. For instance, I got in the habit of jumping rope for about an hour a day, sometimes i'd just do 5000 jumps which all in all was roughly 1000 calories if not a little more. I'd do it 6 days a week. Now the crazy thing is your body turns into a furnace, you dont just stop burning calories when you're finished working out, especially when you do intense cardio like that. After about 3-4 weeks I was losing weight like an aids patient, I stopped once I hit 145, no working out all together. Was eating Hardee's and such because I knew my body was accustomed to being very active. after 7 days I hit the scale and it was at 137 :sadcam:

Dont get me wrong, I was cut, looking real good but I was not trying to weight 130 in my early 20's.

I have a polar watch and a polar monitor for my bike.

Neuvo watch. A little small, but durable and aesthetically smooth. Works for me paid 40 plus shipping on jackthreads a while back.

Ended up going with a Fenix 3 HR. Basically like an Apple watch that you don't have to recharge everyday. GPS, heart rate monitor, step counting, calories counting, gives you metrics on allkinds of activities like rowing, running, walking, hiking, etc. and you can sync it to a website so you can see GPS map of your routes if you ran or cycled outside.
