I am not sure she is walking away. She may see some time in custody and massive restitution, the latter is certain, the former is a real possibility. Plus, she will have been disgraced. She will have to plead guilty or go to trial, obviously she has the best representation her money and privilege have afforded her, but it will be a difficult, not to mention risky, to take this to trial, with such an unlikable defendant, and what looks like a comprehensive, solid federal wire fraud and conspiracy case.
