While it clearly wasn't a great debut, in fairness to Dave he seems to be mostly looking at it as a hobby and something he's interested in trying. He's not going around trash-talking anyone in MMA. Seems like he just wants to test himself, and he has an appreciation for the sport. I can respect that.

A win is a win, though, so he's probably got a few more paydays coming if he wants them.
