I’m scheduled to work.
Electrical here. Still scheduled to work next week at the moment. But today someone who works in a building that 4 of our electricians have been working in all week tested positive for it today. Facility was evacuated and they were sent to get tested. Literally my first week into the apprenticeship so I won’t get paid leave if we shut down. I’ll survive but that check from the feds would be pretty dope for me.

No. I live in northern KY, but work in Cincinnati like 10 mins away from my apt.
I appreciate that and I will remember this. I’m the only Black person in my company it seems. Luckily the journeymen I’ve been working with are just a couple of really solid dudes. I took a pay cut and made this career change late in the game, being 30 years old, but I’m really feeling it after a week on the job. Haven’t done anything crazy. They’ve been having me demo stuff and running MC. The building weve been working in this week...they want an exposed ceiling and the shyt above the grid is an absolute messsssss. Couple that nonsense with not being able to get deliveries we need to progress on the job due to coronavirus, and it’s just kinda moving at a slow pace. Good for me trying to learn, but the dudes I’m working with seem stir crazy a bit lol.
School with IEC doesn’t start till like August so I’m trying to soak up knowledge where I can. If you have any youtubers I should watch or anything I would appreciate it. I don’t wanna just be decent at this. I want to be the guy folks are relieved to see when they get on a job site.
