1. Announced more flows coming soon on the Baby Keem single

2. Announced his next album will be his last on TDE with the creation of an entire website dedicated to his new label

3. Created mysterious folders announcing the heart 5 is coming with a release day for his new album

4. Heart 5 dropped and crashed YouTube for a few hours

5. Album dropped a week later on the release day

6. Added heart 5 to the album which increased his album
Numbers

That’s a rollout. But y’all so blind by the “mysteriously” gimmick to not realize that it was a damn album rollout
all pretty concrete evidence of a rollout, which is why that album should be considered flop. Drake gave a day warning and dropped a dance album when nobody expected it.

That was Kendrick's debut numbers. And 280k was his first week numbers.

That should tell you what kinda drop his album had in streaming once that 5 year hiatus hype mask came off.

No only someone whose blind wouldn’t recognize that was the rollout for Mr. Moralle.
It was a rollout but it was a quick and lazy rollout.

A month is not a very long time to announce an album and release it for an artist as big as Kendrick. They didn't even have a single ready. Yeah he had a rollout, but people talking about a 5 year long rollout is crazy.

Yeah I don’t agree with the 5 year thing they’re talking about but I’m sure his team were banking on fans anticipation for it.

Drake doing basically Kendrick numbers on an unexpected dance album announced hours before release is hilarious

Kung fu Kenny lost his step :mjlol:

To put into context… if CLB did what this new drake album is projected to do (230ish) ..it would be a huge flop..CLB had a full roll out..

Similar to dark lane demo tapes ..which was dropped in the same vein and did I think just about 200k..maybe not even 200..

you guys really don’t even understand the numbers game

I don't care enough to argue about it, but I don't think Kendrick had a "roll out".

I mean, by the definitions in this thread literally anything is a roll out. Generally speaking a roll out = info/promo for the album, and Kendrick had little to none. No title, no track list, there wasn't even a single.

I guess you could argue the anticipation and vagueness was a roll out....but by that logic Drake randomly dropping an album, the element of surprise was the roll out. Like I said, literally anything can be considered a roll out if we go down that path.

And I'm saying this as someone that didn't like the Kendrick album, at all.

The FACT is more that Drake is falling off with a trash ass album than Kendrick outsold him.
Kendrick’s album had more songs which benefits from more streaming. Kendrick also had the 5 year anticipation factor going.

It really doesn’t have anything to do with Kendrick. Matter of fact Kendrick & Drake really haven’t been in direct competition since 2017. They both chose wildly different lanes. Drake is a Pop Star, not a rapper. And Kendrick is a conceptual MC. They really shouldn’t be compared at this point.

I'm sure they were, but a message on Twitter a month before release with no additional promo and no lead single is barely a rollout. They're crazy if they think that was enough to build anticipation after a 5 year break. It might as well be a surprise drop at that point.

A month heads up with tons of think pieces on what the Album will sound like is promo and build up…nikka hasn’t been seen in years and all of a sudden spotted hanging with fans at dodgers games…this is literally all promo and done to build hype

It is in this day and age

I’m a huge Kendrick fan I don’t like mr moralle though but the amount of videos and threads I’ve seen building up to the album was crazy
