Yeah, Kaep and Jimmy G don't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Montana and Young.

he looked like ass in college imo. his tape was awful. he had that deer in the headlights pocket presence and happy feet. I think pats did a fantastic job teaching him stay in the pocket and navigate it only when faced with pressure. This is what he did well in college as well. The league will adjust to exactly this.
What does he have when teams take away his strength?
That is the question
the release and armstrength compensate for throwing off the backfoot, but you can only make so many throws flat footed. most of his backfoot throws been bullets across the middle or inside the hash. I do want to see more touch passes.Yea those flat footed throws concern me but his arm is still good but his release is so quick and accurate which impresses me the most
The NFL is vicious sport. What you do well, teams adjust in the off-season and then you have nothing, especially average arm QBs.
Fanbases learn this every off-season. If 49ers don't draft Barkley, they'll be next on that Summer Jam screen![]()
Im trying to have my optimism curbed but he's looked good. He needs to throw off his backfoot less and sometimes he loses sight of wide open outlets (ie, progressions and play knowledge arent really there yet).
He really shines on the inside the hash intermediate throws
the point is if you do it too much nothing good will come out of it. it shouldnt become a habit, and I see a few of those throws without pressure as well...majority of those backfoot throws have alot to do with the o-line and are atrocious guard play

obviously hes facing pressure a lot due to leaky interior line.
Garappolo looking like an unseasoned Case Keenum and somehow I'm supposed to be excited by him?
Like the dude is in him prime RIGHT NOW. How could you every build around a QB like that?
Makes no sense. The guy will never win a Super Bowl or get anywhere close.
But... yea... I get it -- he's white so being halfway decent is good enough.
Kaep affected the game much more than this guy and the niners fanbase ran him out the league. What you think go happen to 'Jimmy G'???![]()

Jimmy G throws possibly the most accurate, catchable ball since Young or Marino....i can't properly describe it but it's elegant AF to watch.
Quick release. Elusive. Mobile. Smart. Leader.
He's a got damn star and you just don't know it yet.
I hated his tape and thought he looked nothing like Romo. he'd panic and run around the pocket aimlessly on a lot of his tape, ruining any semblance of timing on offense. He looked like Romo in college. He had pocket presence issues but time usually fixes that if the QB isn't scared to get hit. Garrapollo was always a great talent. He was a low 1st round to 2nd round pick. I wouldn't say the Pats "developed" him as much as he developed on his own.

he has one of the most happy feet Ive ever seen in a qb. and Ive seen a lot of happy feet qbs in my lifetime. some garbage footwork
he hasnt shown the ability to step up in the pocket or make quick decisions
tony romo comparison is horrible
all he has is quick release and mobility.
hes an extreme long-term project imo.
