We don't know a whole lot. Firelord Ozai (Zuko's dad) asked his father (Azulon) to give him the throne instead of Iroh (Zuko's uncle), since Iroh stopped trying to conquer Ba Sing Se after his son died. That pissed off Azulon, so he decided to punish Ozai for trying to betray his brother while he was grieving. The punishment was to have Zuko killed so Ozai would know what it was like to lose his son.

The next morning, Ursa had disappeared, Azulon was dead, and Ozai was declared his successor.

According to Ozai, he was ordered by his father to kill Zuko, but then Ursa came up with a plan to save him, which involved killing Azulon, Ursa being banished, and Ozai becoming the firelord.

Felt cheated at the end of that series when Zuko asked what happened to his mom and they never resolved it. I would so much rather prefer they adapted it into Korra or something rather than a comic.

Beggars can't be choosers.

This story was originally pitched to Nickelodeon as a made-for-TV movie, but the network wasn't interested. So the comic was probably the only way we'd ever find out. I'd take that over nothing.

I think it's some kind of red herring. Zuko looks too much like Ozai to not be his real son IMO.

Pretty good IMO...we found out a LOT about Ursa. Also a lot of development between Azula and Zuko. The final part is out in October, so I'd expect that's when we find out once and for all what happened to her.
