there are also a lot of ppl who think that "hip hop" is something they have to know like it is some kind of subject in school.
there are also a lot of ppl that think that because you didn't grow up IN NYC that you aren't hiphop.

Agree with a lot of what your saying and it makes sense. Was pretty much what I was getting at too largely. Also a lot of people are very arrogant, thinking their misinformed, ignorant opinions are more credible than people like Bambaataa, KRS, Kool Herc etc who disagree with the bullshyt they spew. Kool Herc has said that Hip Hop is one of the manifestations of Martin Luther King Jr's dream, KRS also has written this, and said it in his music. People just talk and talk nonsense, with no credence or spirituality behind what there saying. The ones who know know but it's a shame others won't grow up intellectually and morally. In regards to Lord Jamar, I would be very eager to hear him debate this point against Bambaataa or KRS One, he would get destroyd, particularly by Bam, he has no authority over Bam.
