Alright I'm a 20 year old Black man. I start working for the temp service next month. I'm trying to save up enough money to move to start a new life. Also, I'm getting into the IT field :sas1:. January is my last semester at college. I finish on May 11th. I'm getting my A+ Certification first. Then, when I move I plan to get more. Basically, right now I'm either looking at Seattle or Los Angeles. I know L.A. has a higher Black population and they pay more. Ya boy did his research. Lower rent is in L.A. too. However, Seattle has more IT companies. Plus, I want to get into indie acting and do my own podcast down the line. So, Seattle has cheaper acting classes than L.A. Plus, Vancouver is a three hour drive from Seattle. Which should I pick? How could I figure out which one I want to pick out of the two? BTW when I finish getting my IT certs I want to go back to college to get a Bachelor's in Communications.

I want to move to either one in the Summer or late Summer.

Los Angeles.

There's no entertainment industry in Seattle. Especially if you want to make it in acting.

Many people I know in NYC usually end up in LA anyways.
Well IT is the main field I wanna go in. Acting is something I want to do for extra curricular. Basically, I want to do indie acting, and Vancouver isn't far from Seattle. L.A. is cheaper rent wise. So, I'm still stuck on the fence.

As a man who's done both (:sas1:) I would think LA.

Honestly, I might do the same. But on the East Coast.... GA/LA in particular.

I know everyone says L.A., but I'm basically trying to find a place that is cheap and moderately safe. Ya boy don't wanna live in a warzone.

LA is full. But if youre gonna network/get off the ground, this is the place.

Doesnt Seattle have a high suicide rate?

If acting really takes off, you're going to end up and want to be in LA. Why not go big or go home? And at 21 you'll have plenty of time to decide you don't like either. If you have a deadline (such as "I want to have this salary or this many tv credits within 2 years") then you will probably be more likely to achieve your goals or move to the place you really want to be. And of course, you never know what's going to happen so you might as well flip a coin.

But the answer is still LA.

Yeah, I plan to network with a lot of people once I move. I've been thinking about all this for at-least a year now. Plus, I'm trying to save up, so I can relocate.
