Last time I checked, there's still gangs in LA. Especially in the areas they mapped out. And yet GTA 5 had zero gang feel to it. Yea yea a few missions and you always fighting with the Ballas... But free roam in SA was just different.. Run up in the wrong hood and that set was on your ass.. Go to your own hood and it was all love. nikkas riding out with you. Taking flights out to Vegas

You never got that feel from 5
someone already said it, gentrification. art imitating life.

Truth is the original was based in the 90's (crack era, super gang infestation era).
2000's from the same eras are not nearly as gang infested. crack sells have died down quite a bit. a lot of places that use to be super affordable are no longer affordable in these parts in l.a.

white people didnt live in Inglewood in the 90's like they do now. latins didnt live in the Jungles off of chrenshaw and king like they do now. there are even white people in Hyde Park. a known hood on the semi westside.

The east side use to be ran by black gangs and black people. not so anymore. only in a select few areas is that still the case. its either latins or white people or even some indian people from india in some of the better areas. Thangs Done Changed CJ

For some odd reason San Andreas felt like a bigger game even tho the map was significantly smaller.

Don't ask me how
slower cars. where their planes in that original? outside of giant airplanes. no fighter jets to get from point A to Las Vegas or the bay quickly. sure you had the jet pack. but still. the cars in this one are super fast if you're willing to drop the money on them. you pull up in your impala on D's and hoping with the drolics vs my today's version T-20. and its no match. I'll get to the destination in a quarter of the time if not sooner.

Gta V vs. SA shows u how graphics arent everything when it comes to gaming. If they ever redid SA and/or Vice City(their two top GTA games), it'd be a wrap for alot of nikkas careers and lives. Facts
read my previous post. it has zero to do with that. GTA 5 and SA are both SUPER accurate to their ERAS.
Thats the key. You have to take into account that Old SA was based on the 1990's. Gang wars, crack era, gangsta rap era.

GTA 5 was based on Current day the moment it dropped. which meant way less black gangs/gangs in general. more gentrification(which is true). less impalas and cutlasses riding down the street. more modern cars instead(which is true.)
only a small select few areas where black people live in groups now(true.) more hispanics(true). a lot more white people all over(true).

as a black person you just liked that old feel because that old feel was a black feel. the reality is, L.A. is losing its black feel because its becoming too expensive for most of us.

Look at this today map of the races in L.A.
220px-Race_and_ethnicity_2010-_Los_Angeles_%285560490330%29.png

Map of racial distribution in Los Angeles, 2010 U.S. Census. Each dot is 25 people: White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, or Other (yellow)
The 1990 United States Census and 2000 United States Census found that non-Hispanic whites were becoming a minority in Los Angeles. Estimates for the 2010 United States Census results find Latinos to be approximately half (47-49%) of the city's population, growing from 40% in 2000 and 30-35% in 1990 census.

The racial/ethnic/cultural composition of Los Angeles as of the 2005-2009 American Community Survey was as follows:[2]

Approximately 59.4% of Los Angeles' residents were born in the United States, and 0.9% were born in Puerto Rico, US territories, or abroad to American parents. 39.7% of the population were foreign-born. Most foreigners (64.5%) were born in Latin America. A large minority (26.3%) were born in Asia. Smaller numbers were born in Europe (6.5%), Africa (1.5%), Northern America (0.9%), and Oceania (0.3%).[2]

better......ehhhh... Better for or to who?
Better for music/especially better west coast music? Fa Shiggadale.
Better for the people having to deal with gangs? No.
Better for black people in those hoods? No
BUt it was better for paying rent and finding a place to stay. thats true.

Now for entertainment purposes. we all know, we being whites and blacks and everyone else. knows black people are more entertaining overall than pretty much any other racial demographic. and musically we have some of the toughest stories to tell. which made for that original SA to be in my book the best game of all time. It aint GTA 5's fault that L.A. fell off in sense of black culture. lol. but just to be clear GTA 5 is just as accurate as the original. which is why its not exactly the same as the original even though it's set in current times. if they would've gave you CJ and grove street and all that same stuff, same music. but in 2000. we would've all been like this is cool but this aint 1990 nothing.

U going too deep into this :mjlol:

Its a game so obviously im talking music/entertainment. 90s is 2nd to none when it comes to that. And SA brought that 90s vibe out and the city was more live. GTA 5 is just graphically better, thats it. Doesnt feel alive at all

but you're wrong about GTA 5. its not just graphically better. its the same accurate that SA was for the 90's. remember GTA 5 is current day. Ask yourself, is what is going on in GTA 5 very accurate to L.A. of right now? The answer is YES. the issue you're having is that L.A. today has less black culture, less gang culture, no gansta rap from the west coast golden era rappers. thats not an argument. its a reality. which is why SA and GTA 5 are both super accurate. GTA 5 is just less action because in real life there's less black gang action, and we know grap isnt what it use to be.

San Andreas has become overrated as fukk.
No it hasnt. now you're going to the other extreme. SA was possibly the best video game of all time. how accurate it was to making you feel the vibe of that 90's era was unreal. obviously the previous GTA did an excellent job of that in Miami as well. But the fact you not only had L.A. but you had the Bay area and Vegas to boot.

To be able to play an open world game where you did not have to stay the course and you could just flow with it , in and out of it as you saw fit. mix it up with the gangs if you like, while having 2 girlfriends and having to make sure you set aside time for them and your friends. was crazy. was it a grind? Sure. dont forget you had to eat to stay healthy, or else. you eat too much you get fat. you eat to little you get skinny and weaker. you want to be jail buff fresh out... fine. eat a lot and hit the weights but no treadmill and no running. all bear status. Run up Debo style. one hitta quittas. but you can't run from the cops looking like a rime suge knight.

or you can cut it up and be in prime shape. thin but athletic. your choice. but you had all of that going on all at the same time while going thru the story mode. while listening to one of the greatest soundtracks a game has ever had. They basically had 3 or so games in one game in a big world.

I prefer the OG San Andreas. Mainly because I spent years playing SA:MP mod servers. Crazy Bobs Cops and Robbers :blessed:

While GTA V is obviously more detailed, OG Grove Street actually felt like home, driving back and seeing your homies on the streets. There was no place that produced a feeling like that in GTA V.
:ohhh: A fellow Crazy Bobs player from back in the day
