You have a point. I'm spoiled here in Louisiana. Pretty sure switchblades are the only things you can't carry. It's crazy lax here.

Reliability of knife is nigh 100%. Will never run out of ammo, never jam, never have to make sure you got a round in the chamber. Once unsheathed, it's ready for action. Don't really even have to worry about collateral damage. Obviously, having both a gun and knife for self defense is ideal, but I'm just elaborating on your point.
