Now it isn't a reason they're in poverty and India isn't losing their languages, they speak English because there's so many dialects that everyone would be lost, plus they were colonized by the English.

Also Haitians should learn English, screw French that language is dang near irrelevant anyway.

I wonder if she speaks Parisian French by any chance. I remember some of their ilk look down on other types of French as an inferior brand of French. This video about the Quebec accent vs Paris shows the Quebec people kept the old ways and it was the Parisians who changed.



Her opinion that "poor countries cannot afford to speak their own languages" pretty much means forget who you are and just try to be somebody else. Nope. Keep your languages and learn some from the outside world too. That's the best of both worlds and the best solution - instead of just assimilating to other cultures to the point where you lose your own. You're supposed to adapt, grow and become the best version of yourself you can possibly be - not try to become a version of somebody else.
