This season went out on a happy note for Louie, with him in the bathtub with Pamela.

Some of the art they were looking at in the 1st episode :what:

Him pushing that button :pachaha:

Pamela bringing up the fact that Janet was black, had to be a nod to the audience :skip:

I kind of like that Pamela addressed the situation with Louie's ex. Just because we're okay with Louie's absurd world doesn't mean she should be.

Didn't like this season too much...I understand where he was going with it....but I didn't really want this journey through his romantic life and while some may appreciate that "growth" in the show...I was the kinda guy that loved the strange, surreal, date leaving in a helicopter aspect of Louie.

"In The Woods" felt like a Coen Brothers film....got a strong "A Serious Man" vibe from it....great work on his behalf....but it's not what I really *wanted*.

Honestly...this season felt like it was closer to Lucky Louie than Louie.

I kind of like that Pamela addressed the situation with Louie's ex. Just because we're okay with Louie's absurd world doesn't mean she should be.
I really disliked it. In fact, that point was, for me, emblematic of the change in tone that I'm talking about.

Before, it was...unique and raised questions. It fukked with our expectations. BUT we ultimately got over it and just focused on the actual characters.

Hell...it almost felt like it was progressive in some aspect. Like Louie was purposefully bucking our conception of casting (This happens in theater all the time, but rarely in film/television).

But it just gets explained away as some genetic anomaly....felt kind of cheap to me.

It's an example of the surrealism being taken out of the show.
