He was a graduate assistant. Grad assistants are young guys that college staffs bring on to get their feet wet in coaching and basically babysit the players. They don't get paid much, and its damn near like an internship for guys that eventually wanna be coaches.

They're paid, but its like 40k a year. The thing Pitino harped on during his press conference is that Grad Assistants and Directors of BBall Ops don't handle recruiting at all, which is true.

Andre McGee is the staff member. She has a appointment book naming him a few times, and allegedly has text messages from him. Whether any of what she has is permissible evidence that the NCAA can use has yet to be seen.

I've talked to a couple of my plugs near the program this morning, and the more I hear, the more it seems like Louisville is gonna be able to get out of this one.

If the chicks goes through with this book and the allegations in it, its almost certain that the City Police Department is going to charge her and her daughters with as much as humanly possible. And they'll likely assign a judge to the case that's a Louisville alum or booster, and will completely throw the book at her. (There's alot of them in the city courthouse). She could be looking at 30-40 years from what I've been told. Or, she could recant her claims and only face a civil lawsuit.

So basically, like I said earlier, this chick ain't lying, but the University of Louisville has an overwhelming amount of leverage in this situation.

I don't see how the university gets out clean if the city tries to come at her like that. That makes it obvious that shyt really happened.

It comes down to how many friends the University has in both the LMPD and the courthouse. And from what I've seen and heard over the years they have quite a few. There's been quite a few cases over the years where Louisville athletes ducked serious charges because the right people at the university had the ears of the right people downtown. I'm sure you're aware of at least a few of the incidents. The only outlier is the bogus Chris Jones rape charges from earlier in the year, and those only got filed because a campus detective that wasn't part of the LMPD (and also just so happened to be a HUGE Kentucky fan) took it upon himself to do the investigation and file the charges, when the normal protocol is to bring in the city police for such allegations.

At this point I think everyone at the university knows that this happened, but if they can make it known through back channels via the city police that this chick could face decades in prison if she goes forward with this, there's a good possibility that she recants these statements. This gets the program out of NCAA infractions and the chick doesn't go to jail.

If that plays out, then you basically have a situation like you have with UK, Kansas, Arizona, etc. when it comes to paying recruits. Even though most people with half a brain can look at the situation and figure out improprieties were involved, it can't be proven.
