Lovesexy is my top 4 P album..classic and ahead of its time.

I hear that :obama:
It's definitely 1 of his albums that I listen to more than I use too. Lovesexy stands alone on it's own island to me. No Wendy or Lisa, just Prince all by his lonesome working on a project for Sheila E's birthday only then to get cold feet about that album so he then in turn records brand new material and wala, we get Lovesexy with the exception of When 2 R In Love. But I like it cause it was an album of all original NEW songs. Nothing he had been really reworking from previous albums only to include on this. So you really got a feel of where he was musically in 88'

Him and Patti singing "Positivity" :ohlawd:

He was on God status in that performance.

Although Prince was always, always a great performer. Performance wise, Prince was definitely at his peak, and on God status from 87-94... same for Mike, 88-95 was peak years for Mike as a performer.

Prince although through the decades wouldn't sell as much as he did in the 80's and early 90's. skill wise he just got better. I was jamming the Planet Earth album not too long ago and was like

I agree, I couldn't have said it any better. He definitely got even better with time. Like for instance, this performance of his in 91' at the special olympics :ohlawd:

Man, I'm bout to play Lovesexy now. That album just always puts me in a really great mood :wow:
Looking back, this was a brave album of Prince to do, coming off the heels of Sign O' The Times which artistically was his magnum opus IMO :whew:
But Lovesexy was such an abrupt stop in the middle, even for Prince who had been unpredictable all throughout the 80's.
Looking at these videos now, this is so late 80's. It's just like a time capsule :mjcry:
