However, the study also suggests that this process may be prevented or reversed based on dietary changes that involve minimising the consumption of simple carbohydrates,” added Mujica-Parodi.

“It has been shown that eating such high levels of fat, which generally goes with people eating less fruit and vegetables, has a detrimental impact on your heart, which has dangerous side effects.

“Also, there is a huge amount of evidence showing that the Mediterranean diet is the best diet we’ve got so far for brain and heart,” she added. “That includes a lot of wholegrains.

We’re going to need a lot more research if the ketogenic diet is going to be widely recommended as an alternative to that approach as a prevention against dementia.”

You don’t have to be keto necessarily. Just avoid simple carbs mostly. I eat a low-carb diet (under 75g) but it all comes from fruit, vegetables and no sugar added Greek yogurt.
Came in to say this. Carbs with a lot of fiber, vitamins minerals and natural sugars aren’t bad in moderation.

fruits veggies beans and whole grains.

What I’ve found is choosing to eat low carb means I don’t intake processed foods, eat out as much and have a double serving of veggies instead of a starch. All of those decisions has helped me to make better decisions about what I eat. I don’t think it matters exactly how you are deciding to eat better, but that you make the decision and stick with it

Recently got a colonoscopy (non-sedated btw, wouldn't wish it on anybody, maybe a crazy ex or the mail man that always puts our letters in our neighbors box) and determined to have ulcers in my stomach/intestinal lining.

So I quite alcohol.

Carbs? Not so easy.

But I believe the study. Carbs/sugar and stress need to be minimized.

There is a danger in low fat low carb diet but no low carb high fat.

There is danger in damn near everything. I can find research to support and to go against. But as someone who’s done a low carb diet in the past and experienced no benefits at all—not weight loss, not sharper mind, not a boost in energy and damn sure not a good mood, I know that for my body I need a moderate carb intake. Do what you want breh. I’m still eating carbs.

Strict diets always has been a issue for a lot of people but however eliminating things causing massive health issues isn't strict it's taken things away rendering your well being.

I watched many people struggle on many diets bc they deviate from them or they don't work. However I watched high fat low carb change the dynamics of diseases. Hell intermittent fasting has change the game period.

Moderate carbs isn't so much of a issue but the excessive everyday use is. So is sugar. Too many people are at work are cranky off sugar drops and spikes bc they eat 150 grams of carbs and about 200 grams of sugar before lunch. Do what is best for you.
